Finance Generalist (Remote In FL, GA & KY)

Job Description

We are seeking a Finance Generalist to be responsible for providing superior customer service and completing various activities related to Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, and General Accounting in support of team and company financial goals. The key priority for this role is the ability to efficiently and promptly collect outstanding payments.

Essential Functions:

  • Regularly converses by phone and email with members and providers, either directly or as transferred by customer service representatives

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, and respect for customers, co-workers, and management

  • Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the office as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Skill in basic Accounting

  • Ability to verify calculations and other information

  • Skill in reviewing medical billing claims for processing

  • Ability to record expenditures in database

  • Ability to query and balance budgets with monthly reports

  • Ability to work in an unsupervised environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget monitoring and general accounting processes

  • Balance and reconciles accounting records, statements, journals and ledgers and reports

  • Collects fees or revenue, disburses payments and posts to appropriate account.

  • Complies with all applicable Federal, State and other laws/regulations relating to Medical billing and collections

  • May monitor individual department budgets or expenditures, and identifies budget variances

  • Responds to provider and payer inquires according to best practice standards

  • Performs routine accounting, clerical, billing, and/or claims processing duties for assigned accounts. Responds to inquires to solve routine accounting problems

  • Prepares requested materials for audits of financial data or record

  • Processes and records financial transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, invoices or requisitions in a ledger/system

  • Provides information or interpretation to third parties such as banks, auditors, vendors/providers, and governmental agencies

  • Participate in and complete all required trainings and in-services

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, groups of managers, and other employees of the organization

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required - High School or GED

  • Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook). Must have a working knowledge of various business software (i.e.: ERP, CRM, etc.)

  • Must have advanced skill in Quickbooks

  • Must have experience in Medical Billing

  • Must have experience in DME and HCPC II Collections

  • Must have a working knowledge of data analysis and operations metrics

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to work individually as well as within a team

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize

  • Must demonstrate extreme attention to detail

  • Must possess strong organization skills

  • Must be able to perform calculations, problem solve and use reasoning

  • Must have knowledge of medical practices and medical terminology

  • Must be able to meet predefined production and quality standards

  • Must be a self starter

  • Must have high speed internet at least 100mbs downstream

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.)

  • Prefer strong negotiation skills

  • Intermediate Knowledge of medical terminology and DME

  • At least one (1) year of related experience in a healthcare setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
